All year long, every child dreams of that special gift that they always hope Santa Claus will bring to them on Christmas morning. Whether it be a fire truck, a puppy, or a stereo… every child always has an answer for the question, “What would you like for Christmas this year?”
When I was 13 years old, I was ready with an answer to that question too. Since I had been good all year long in 1998, I had continually asked for the same gift: an Emerson stereo.
Now, this wasn’t just any stereo; this one included a CD player and a tape deck. Naturally, for any 13-year-old in 1998, having something like this would be a dream come true.
I remember going to the Westwood Mall in Marquette and asking Santa Claus for this stereo. When all was said and done I believe I had asked for this same gift a total of 5 times!
On Christmas morning, December 25th, my wish came true. There it was; still wrapped in the giant box with a bow on top… my Emerson stereo! I shouted to my entire family, “THIS IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!” Truly, it was a Christmas to remember…
